How it works

  1. Share a photo

The one you love most. It doesn't need to be recent or perfect. Up to 3 photos help us get their face, coat and markings right.

  2. See their portrait, free

You'll see a soft watercolor portrait, free, before you decide anything. Try another version, or tell us what to change.

  3. Add their name, if you'd like

Their name, and their dates or a short line like “Always our good boy”, set in a quiet serif type beneath the portrait on canvas. You'll see it before anything is printed.

  4. Approve it, and we take care of the rest

A person on our team looks it over before it goes to our print partner. Canvases and framed prints arrive ready to hang.

  • Your photo stays private Used only to make your portrait. If you don't order, it's deleted after 30 days.
  • Checked by a person Every portrait is looked over by our team before it prints.
  • Printed to order Gallery-wrapped canvas, a framed print or an unframed paper print.
  • Our guarantee Damaged or misprinted? Free replacement. Doesn't feel like them? A free remake within 30 days, and a full refund if it still isn't right.

How their portrait is made.

Here is exactly what happens between the photo you share and the portrait on your wall.

  1. Made with AI tools

Your portrait is a digital illustration made from your photo with AI image tools, following instructions we wrote and tested for the face, the eyes and the markings. It is not painted by hand, and we won't say it is.

  2. Checked against the preview you approved

When you order, we make a larger print-ready version. Our software compares it with the preview you approved, eyes included, before it goes any further.

  3. A person looks it over before print

Every order then waits for someone on our team to look at it and send it to print. If something looks off, we fix it or write to you first.

Gentle questions

Is there a deadline?

No. Your preview is kept for 30 days, and you can make a new one any time after that. Take the time you need.

Can the portrait show them younger, the way I remember them?

The portrait follows your photo. If you have a photo from when they were younger, use that one. You can also leave a note, and we'll do what we can in the proof.

What if I find a better photo later?

Before you order, you can start again with a different photo as often as you like, free. After you order, email it to us before your portrait goes to print, or use it for your free remake. There's never a charge for a new photo.

Can you include their collar or a favorite toy?

Leave a note when you approve, and we'll show you a proof before printing. We can't always add objects that aren't in the photo, and we'll tell you honestly if we can't.

What happens to my photos?

They're used only to make your portrait. Previews you don't order are deleted after 30 days. If you order, we keep your photo for 190 days in case anything needs fixing, then delete it.

What is the canvas like?

Gallery-wrapped canvas, 1.25 in deep: 344 g/m² poly-cotton canvas stretched over solid pine bars, with a satin finish and a soft, low-glare sheen. The print is fade-resistant. It arrives ready to hang, with mounting brackets included. Canvases and framed prints ship in a cardboard box, wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap or foam, with no prices inside.

What is the paper print like?

Your portrait printed on thick matte paper (189 g/m², 10.3 mil), 16 x 16 in. It's unframed, so you can choose your own frame (the frame isn't included). It ships rolled in a sturdy triangular box. If it curls a little, lay it flat under a book for a day before framing.

Can I send it straight to the person it's for?

Yes. Enter their address at checkout. When you choose a size, you can add a gift message, and we print it on the packing slip. Prices are never on the packing slip.
